Digital art, 4.6″ x 7.2″ card
When I have time, I like to illustrate our New Years cards, and for the 2020 motif I went with Clue, one of our favorite movies. I really enjoyed working out intricate set background drawing, playing with the shadows and little intricacies to make it look good. I drew a lot of inspiration from Walt Peregoy’s beautiful background paintings for 101 Dalmations.
Rachle and I spent a not-insignificant amount of time deciding which of our pets matched each character’s personality (I’m Wadsworth and she’s Mrs. White). The inside text even took inspiration from the movie poster typography, because we’re nerds like that.
